Our hearts flutter over these vintage butterflies!
Based on an engraving by Jacob Hoefnagel, these fluttering creatures are a part of his bound volume Archetypa studiaque patris Georgii Hoefnagelii, published in 1592. This Tattly was created as part of the licensing partnership with the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

Jacob Hoefnagel, court artist to Emperor Rudolph II in Prague, is noted for his natural history illustrations. His engravings done after drawings by his father, Joris, and published in 1592 in Frankfurt, are of plants, insects and small animals, as seen and studied from life.

Application
Applying Tattly is SUPER EASY!
1. Skin should be clean, dry and free of makeup, sunscreen or lotions.
2. Remove clear top sheet.
3. Press tattoo, design facing down, onto skin.
4. Hold wet cloth against back of tattoo. Press down and make sure to wet it thoroughly.
5. Wait 30 seconds, then peel off paper backing.
6. Gently rinse image with water for best effect.
